Our story

Built because the system
is genuinely broken.

Home insurance is one of the most important financial products most Australians hold. The industry treats it like an afterthought. We're changing that — one address at a time.

The problem

The comparison sites
are broken. Here's why.

Finder and Canstar rank insurers without providing quotes. None of them automate your annual renewal. The system is designed to keep you paying more than you should.

01
Rankings, not quotes
Finder and Canstar rank insurers and redirect you to each company separately. You fill out the same form 5–10 times. Some sites capture your email then deliver nothing but redirect links. You never see actual prices until you've done all the work.
02
The market is incomplete
Only insurers who pay for API placement appear in results. Allianz and NRMA — two of the largest in Australia — are routinely absent from comparison sites. You never see the full picture, and you have no way of knowing what's missing.
03
Insurers reprice by postcode
Premiums spike not because you're higher risk — but because your insurer has too many policies in your suburb. Northern Beaches homeowners face this every year. You'd never know unless you shopped around again. Most don't.
04
Nobody automates the renewal
Every year, homeowners face the same hours of re-entering the same details — or accept whatever price increase arrives in the mail. There is no set-and-forget option anywhere in the Australian market. Until now.
05
Underinsurance is invisible
28% of Australian homes are insured for less than it would cost to rebuild them. No comparison site calculates your rebuild cost before showing you quotes. The gap only becomes apparent at claim time — which is the worst possible moment to discover it.
06
You don't know what you don't know
A monitored alarm saves an average of $340/year on your premium. Increasing your excess from $500 to $2,000 saves another $480. Nobody shows you this at the point of decision. We do.
How it works

Your quotes are already waiting.

We pre-run all your quotes before you arrive. No waiting. No forms. Just results, instantly.

Step 01
Enter your address
We've pre-run quotes for thousands of Northern Beaches properties using public property data — floor area, build year, flood and fire risk — sourced from G-NAF, Geoscape, and NSW government datasets.
Step 02
Instant results — 2 seconds
Your quotes from every major insurer appear instantly from our cache. Upload your renewal notice to personalise — we extract your current premium, rebuild sum, and expiry date automatically.
Step 03
Sorted every year after that
Once you switch, we handle every renewal automatically. If a better deal appears before your renewal, we'll let you know. Annual effort required: zero.
The founder

Why I built this.

Founder & CEO, Yearly Today

In 2023, I opened a renewal notice from my home insurer. My premium had gone up by $640 — 22% in a single year. I hadn't made a claim. Nothing about my property had changed. I called and asked why. The answer was essentially: postcode repricing. My suburb had too many policies, and the insurer was adjusting its book.

"I spent three hours that weekend filling out the same form on eight different websites. Three of them didn't even give me a real quote. That was the moment I decided something had to change."

I eventually found a quote $1,200 cheaper for equivalent cover. But the process had taken most of a Saturday afternoon, and I knew that most people — including me the year before — would just accept the renewal price and move on. The friction is the business model.

The deeper I looked, the worse it got. Comparison sites don't give you actual quotes — they give you rankings and redirect you. Half the major insurers don't even appear. The sites that do show quotes are often owned by the very insurers they're supposedly comparing. The entire category is structurally misaligned with the customer.

I'm a homeowner on the Northern Beaches. I have a background in [technology/product/finance]. I built Yearly Today because I wanted to use it myself — and because I believe there's a better way to run this process for every Australian homeowner.

The technology exists to pre-run every quote for every property in a suburb overnight. The open government data exists to verify property details without asking customers to fill in forms. The comparison engine exists to surface insights that actually move the number — not just a ranked list sorted by whoever paid the most for placement.

We're starting with 100 properties per suburb on the Northern Beaches. The goal is every home in Australia. Compare once. Sorted every year.

Our mission

Home insurance that works
for the homeowner.

Not for the insurer. Not for the comparison platform. For the person who owns the house.

Structurally independent
No insurer owns us. No insurer pays for placement. Our revenue comes from referral commissions on completed switches only — which means we only earn when you find a genuinely better deal.
Radical transparency
We tell you where every data point comes from. We show you every insurer — not just the ones who pay for API access. We explain why your premium is what it is. No black boxes.
Annual autopilot
The comparison problem doesn't end when you switch. It resets every year. Our autopilot re-runs your quotes at renewal automatically — so you never overpay because you forgot to check.

already ready.
